COMMISSIONING OF ENERGY SYSTEMS
Jim Van Compernolle, LEED AP, President of JVC Architects, has culminated his career-spanning interest in green building design and adherence to sustainable construction practices, by earning his LEED Accreditation.
The long-term objective of sustainable design is to minimize resource degradation and consumption on a global scale. The primary objective of sustainable building design is to “lead through example” to heighten environmental awareness. JVC Architects has used green building design principles for years, and have found that they are now economically feasible for projects with more modest construction budgets.
Through JVC Architects’ extensive experience with Master Planning of commercial and Church project sites, the firm also developed an approach to orienting and layering building components on a project site to minimize solar impact and prevailing wind conditions, while still maximizing the financial potential of the site.
JVC projects routinely integrate sustainable design principles, including sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, indoor environmental quality, and innovation during the design process.
Use quality materials compatible with sustainable design to provide environmentally sensitive, yet EASILY MAINTAINED facilities. Quality materials provide durability and reduce life cycle resource and maintenance costs.
